This Privacy Policy explains how SlackToNotion (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Slack application and related services.

1. Overview

SlackToNotion helps users manually save selected Slack messages into a Notion database.

The app only processes data when a user explicitly initiates an action (for example, selecting “Save as Feature Request”).

We do not monitor Slack workspaces, scan messages automatically, or process data in the background.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service.

Slack Data

  • Slack workspace ID
  • Slack user ID of the user who installs or configures the app
  • Message content and limited metadata only when a user explicitly saves a message

We do not access or store any other Slack messages.

Notion Data

  • Notion OAuth access token
  • Selected Notion database ID
  • Workspace identifiers required to write content

The app can only access Notion databases that the user explicitly connects.

Account & Billing Data

If you purchase a paid plan:

  • Email address
  • Billing status and subscription identifiers

All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card information.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process personal data based on:

  • User consent (explicit user action)
  • Contractual necessity (to provide the service)

4. How We Use Information

We use data solely to:

  • Save selected Slack messages into Notion
  • Maintain workspace configuration
  • Provide customer support
  • Manage subscriptions and billing

We do not use data for advertising, analytics, or resale.

5. What We Do NOT Do

  • No background monitoring
  • No automatic message ingestion
  • No AI or behavioral analysis
  • No tracking beyond explicit actions

6. Data Retention

  • Saved messages persist only in the user’s Notion workspace
  • Configuration data is retained while the app is installed
  • Data is deleted upon request or app uninstallation, subject to technical limitations

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share data.

Data is shared only with:

  • Slack (to operate the app)
  • Notion (to store saved messages)
  • Stripe (for billing)

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including:

  • Secure token storage
  • Encrypted communication
  • Limited production access

9. User Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Withdraw consent
  • Uninstall the app at any time
